Settled In Heaven

Psalm 119:89

For ever, 0 Lord, Thy Word is settled in heaven.

At one time this was not very well understood, but with the findings of recent years of the constellations in ancient records, and their relation to the Bible record as shown in Ps 19, we can see how this is so.

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament sheweth His handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, Where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them He set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, And his circuit unto the ends of it: And there is nothing hid from the heat thereof (Ps 19:1-6).

Now we can see that close to 2500 years before Moses began to write the Book, the gospel was written in the stars and known of all men, until the day they did not like to retain God in their knowledge. Then they began to worship the host of heaven, and so was born an abomination called astrology.

Man can translate and alter the written Word to suit his fancy, but he does not move the stars to alter their message. the sun passes thru 12 of the constellations in its course.

The first of these is the virgin with the promise of the seed and the branch, i.e., Christ. The story of the sufferings of the Lamb of God and His return as the Lion of the.tribe of Judah is followed right thru. This solves the riddle of the Sphinx. It has the head of the virgin and the body of the lion, the beginning and the end of the redemptive story.

So we see that God's Word was settled or established firmly in the heavens long before the written Word was given. That is why that the nations God had to give up were without excuse (Ro 1:20). Among other things, the wrath of God is revealed from heaven, in the stars, against the ungodly. And in verse 19 it says that God shewed it unto them. God's age-abiding power and Godhead is revealed from this same heaven. This is by the things that are made, the stars especially.

But back in those days when men knew God by the record in the stars, they did not glorify Him as God. They did not want to know Him. And so they became fools and worshipped the host of heaven, changing the names of the stars and the constellations to suit their fancy. That is why it is hard today to find the original names.

But progress has been made and a comparison of the record in the sky with the written Word verifies what is written in the Book about the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And when men have burned all the books, there will remain the redemptive story in the skies, unchanged.

This is a marvelous teaching, it gives great hope to believing God has a plan and if He could arrange the stars to proclaim Him, how easily He could have chosen a person (Eph 1:4) and guided their life (predestine) to bring them to the knowledge of the unsearchable wisdom (Eph 3:8) of the mystery revealed thru Paul.
And not for any works (Eph 2:9) they had done or that He foreknew they would do, but just because it pleased Him (Eph 1:5 & 9) to let us understand what His invitation (Eph 1:18) and gift (Eph 2:8) means.
