1. THE DECLARATION

We believe that salvation is by grace, through faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. It constitutes the theme of the gospel, and while a message of unspeakable mercy to the sinner, it stands firm upon the basis of righteousness, God in His wondrous love providing the sacrifice for sin, whereby He might be a just God and a Saviour of all that call upon Him.

2. SCRIPTURAL GROUNDS

' ... I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth' (Rom. 1:16).

' ... the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men' (Titus 2:11).

' ... Thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins' (Matt. 1:21).

'Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us'
(Titus 3:5).

'For by grace are ye saved through faith ... not of works' (Eph. 2:8,9).

' ... a just God and a Saviour' (Isa. 45:21).

3. EXPLANATION AND EXPANSION OF THE SCRIPTURES THAT SPEAK OF SALVATION.

While the law can only condemn where perfect righteousness cannot be produced, the gospel brings glad tidings of salvation for the ungodly, the sinner, and the lost. The reason that the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth is that therein is revealed a righteousness of God by faith of Jesus Christ, which is unto all and upon all that believe.

While the whole Person and work of Christ forms the object of faith, the resurrection is specially stressed.

' ... If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved' (Rom. 10:9).

Salvation cannot be merited; it is not of works, but the gift of God. The Lord Jesus Christ is above all else 'The Saviour', and salvation is ours because of His finished work. He died, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. He suffered for our sins. He endured the cross that salvation might be complete, even to the putting off of the old man, and the putting on of the new. His precious blood cleanses from all sin, and in His resurrection the believer finds the power and pledge of a new and endless life. The fact that God is a just God and a Saviour, that He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, that in the very salvation provided by His love He manifests not only His mercy but His righteousness; this is the believer's sure rock foundation. Salvation is all of grace; free, unmerited favour to the worthless and the lost.

We believe that, once saved the believer has incorruptible seed which is by birth and cannot be corrupted or lost. This does not mean that unfaithfulness will not be reckoned, or that there is any encouragement to slackness on the believer's part, but that those for whom the Saviour died can never perish, neither can any pluck them out of His hand. Salvation is the great covering term that stretches from the first awakening to the need of a Saviour to the time when the redeemed are presented faultless before His throne. Salvation includes justification by faith without works, forgiveness of sins, the gift of eternal life, and the hope of glory.

'This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners' (1 Tim. 1:15).

I would just like to say to all who question God and what is true. I wanted to go to church all my life. I went to different ones. Whatever was closes enough to walk because my family did not go. As I got older and got married, had children and just led life haphazardly, knowing some Scripture, but still not understanding what was true. my heart got so heavy and I cried all the time. I begged God to reveal the truth of His WORD. I begged Him to close any door of my mind that was not true. I constantly cried and begged for only what he wanted me to know and believe. I went to several different churches and spoke to several leaders, only to still feel empty and longing. In about 2 months of doing this, God in His wonderful way led us (my whole family) to a church. It would take hours to tell you all of the wonderful things that happened to lead us there. There is no doubt that this was the way, the truth and the life. My husband and I got saved. He was an alcoholic. My kids accepted Christ as time went on. God wants us to know the truth. He will not let us rest until we find it, if we are truly seeking and not just taking the word of men. It is in His Word just as this site is telling you. Read the Word, pray about it and the truth will set you free. In Christ

So how about the rich man told in luke 16? it says in verse 23: "And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom"?

Our Reply,
We know this is a very hard subject for many Christians because of what they have been taught or failed to be taught concerning heaven and hell and what happens at death. For a answer to your question please see:

Friends:

I have been seeking for my entire life, and I have failed to listen clearly. I know many who are literalists (and here is the "but"), but I find it impossible for me to believe in at once an "all powerful, all knowing, and all loving" God who has condemed me and the vast majority of his creations (in his ownn immage) to eternal damnation!

Help me to understand this apparent (for me at least) contradiction. I.e. John 3:18 states that I will spend an eternity in Hell as will just about everyone I know including our daughter who died at age 27 due to "legal" drug miss use and my lack of action.

Thank you for taking my constration seriously!

Most Sincerely,

Bill

Our Reply;

Dear Bill,
God Bless and thank you for writing. There is only one Truth of God's Word but hundreds if not thousands of religions even in "Christianity". Many of these denominations (religions) teach that people will be damned to everlasting torment on hell but is this what Scripture teaches? The first lie (religion) ever told to man was;

Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

For God had said;

Gen 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

It doesn't say burn in hell does it? The Scripture never expands on this punishment but affirms it over and over again as in;

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Even hell (the grave) perishes for;

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

What does fire do? It consumes it makes that which was no more. We are told that fate (the one of non existence) is the ultimate punishment even for the devil himself;

Eze 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Eze 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
Eze 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
Eze 28:18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
Eze 28:19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

The word translated "damn" or "condemned" is the Greek word krino and should in every place be translated judged. Man has been caught in sin since Adam but God Who is as you say "all powerful, all knowing, and all loving" had provided a simple way for all to escape the consequence of sin;

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Ti 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
