You might be asking, “What God, who is His Son and what's His Word?”. Well those are wonderful questions, but be prepared, for what you are opening yourself up to is mind blowing, heart melting, purpose filled, and a life giving plan that is revealed in His Word.

The Word of God is sometimes referred to as the 'Holy Bible'. How do we know it is the Word of the real God? There are a lot of God's out there, right? Islam has Allah, Buddhism has Buddha, Hinduism has Reincarnation, Atheism says “There is no God” and so on... This particular topic, on how the Word of God (Bible) is unique compared to all other books of religion out there, is an in depth study and can fill volumes by itself. We have these studies available here but here are few to start with:

The Bible is unique in its continuity. It was written over a 1600-year span during 60 generations and by more than 40 authors from every walk of life, including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, poets, statesmen, scholars, and others. It was written in a variety of places and customs, during times of war and peace, on three continents(Africa, Asia, and Europe)and in different languages. With all that being said, it speaks with perfect unity and harmony, covering many subjects, a purpose and plan that started before time or creation existed. It covers the present and future events. The Bible has been circulated, read and published in more languages than any other book in the world, it has more manuscript evidence than any other literature in the world, it has even survived persecution. From Roman times to the present, people and governments have tried to burn it, ban it and outlaw it. Despite all of this, the Bible is still around and flourishing. We could go on and on... The on and on is available in other studies here on the site, but the most unique claim compared to any other written literature or religious writing is this: The Bible states that the one and only God of all things has a Son by the name of Jesus Christ, who created everything in our known universe and beyond. On an epic scale that we cannot even comprehend, but have a glimpse of in His Word, we find that one of His creations was an angel named Lucifer. Because God is all loving, he gave Lucifer a free choice, whether to serve Him or not. Well, Lucifer decided he didn't need God, and that instead, he wanted to be God. This choice sent perfect creation into Chaos and for the first time, sin came into existence. God came through though, and cleaned things up. He created a perfect garden on this earth for his new creation(Man) to abide in and care for. Our all Loving God gave man the same choice as He had given Lucifer, Man could serve God or do whatever he pleased instead. Man also chose to do his own thing, only this time it was from the influence of Lucifer, now called Satan. This threw Creation as we now know it, into Chaos. Man's choice to do his own thing brought sin and death into the human race. God forces no one to love Him, however, there are consequences for our own actions. These consequences are not from God but from the choices we make. God then looked down on this messed up world and broken man, and had mercy. He set a plan into action that would redeem man from the deception that Satan had planted. There was nothing that could redeem man in this fallen state. Man could not be good enough, say the right words or do enough good deeds to remove the death that he was now bound by, so God sent His one and only perfect son Jesus Christ to this earth. He was to live as a man, experience the same feelings we have, the same temptations, sorrow, and joy and yet remain perfect. Being God in the flesh, He was able to take all of man's transgressions(sins) and death upon himself. He was nailed to a cross and experienced death for us. He was cut off from existence. He was dead for three days and three nights but death couldn't hold him down. By the power of God, He was raised back to life, walked again among man and ascended back into the heavens. He is seated on the right hand of God and one day will appear again and begin the restoration of all things.

So now you are left with a choice. Do you believe these Words?

John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Romans 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

 There is nothing for you to do but believe. Remember, you can't say enough right things, do enough good deeds, dress a certain way, go to church enough times or give away enough money. All you have to do is BELIEVE. Remember, if you believe, at a time in the future that God only knows, you will be resurrected to a life eternal with God and saved from eternal seperation from God.

There is only 1 unforgivable sin that will keep you from eternity with our Lord & Savior. We all know what that is, Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
You can not "Earn" your way by works or deeds, such as speaking in tongues, being baptized, prophesying or any other action save
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

ok um you should read Acts 2:38 its the salvation plan. yes you were right to say that we cant do anything to earn god's love and mercy and his saving grace but acts says: repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of the lord jesus christ for theremision of sins and you shall recieve the gift of the holy ghost. we need to be baptized and repent and speak in tounges. this is a necesity for entrance into heaven. please look this up and research it peter was talking to the CHURCH. he was showing us god's salvation plan. just because it says believe doesnt mean that theres not something else we must do. yes you do have to believe to be baptized(in jesus name,dunked under water. this takes your sins away and cleanses you.) if your a preacher then you most likly know this but if not you might want to look it up not meaning to be rude. you dont even have to be preacher but anyone posting on the internet saying how to be saved should look it up in the bible. really research it. trust me it pans out.

Our Reply,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. Here at Believer.com we are always willing to change how we believe, if from Scripture we can be shown The Word of God more perfectly.

Your opening sentence included instruction for us to read Acts 2:38 but rest assured we have read this verse many times where it says:

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

When Peter stood up and preached this wonderful message he was not preaching to the Gentiles but to Israel or the Wife of Christ not the Church which is His Body. In Truth Peter didn't get the message from God to go to a Gentile until Acts Chapter 10. In this chapter Peter says;

Acts 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Act 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Act 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

At this point, the Gospel message was opened to the Gentiles, God did this to provoke Israel to jealousy and for them to be converted. This is why several times it is stated the message was to the Jew first.:

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Rom 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

Rom 2:10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

Deu 32:21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
and repeated in Romans:

Rom 10:19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

Rom 11:11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

Then finally in Acts chapter 28 Paul had gathered together some of the Jewish leaders to give one more grand effort to help the Nation of Israel see that Jesus Christ was the son of God. Sadly, they went away in dispute and in Acts 28:28 the Gentile message is proclaimed:

Act 28:23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
Act 28:24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
Act 28:25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
Act 28:26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
Act 28:27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Act 28:28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

After Acts 28:28 a beautiful Gospel message is revealed in the Word of God where there is no Jew or Gentile, there is not an earthly hope of a coming kingdom, but a heavenly hope of Christ's appearing outside of our known world. Salvation is purely grace. This message is a walk of faith, not sight. There is now One Baptism. Our blessings are not physical manifestations of the Spirit, but are enjoyed in heavenlies places in Christ (Eph. 1:3). This message was hidden in God and revealed first to Paul. You cannot find it in the old testament, it is not part of the covenant made with Abraham, for the first time the Gentiles are called the Church where Christ is the Head and we make up His Body. This is the Mystery message spoken of in Ephesians and Colossians and the rest of Paul's prison epistles.

Eph 3:1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
Eph 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
Eph 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery...
Eph 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

Col 1:25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Col 1:26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
Col 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

We do not need to be "dunked under water" or "speak in tongues" for salvation as you stated. Yes, we will agree during the Acts period when the coming Kingdom was being preached to the Jew first and then the Gentile, they were to be baptized in water. But, as stated above, a new message was revealed (The Mystery). It is important to understand that God has worked with the human race in different ways at different times. When you get to the New Testament in the Bible you cannot broad brush it and say everything somehow applies to today. The unity of a Christians faith for today states:

Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (this is not water baptism)
Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Col 2:9 For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Col 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Col 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
Col 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
Col 2:21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
Col 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Heb 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
Heb 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit.

We do encourage you to back any of your statements with God's Word and show us where we have errored in ours. We apologize for the lengthy response, but as you can see we do not take these comments lightly, and have much more to add.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

May God Bless you as you continue to seek the Truth through His Word,
The Believers

Most of us myself included look at phrase
thou shall be saved (for some reason) as if it said (are saved) not seeing that this is a process which begins with reception of Christ until the end.By Faith laying hold of all He did in death and resurrection.Having not yet attained unto the Resurrection or allready perfect but ect. .
